METS Ignited, the WA Agtech meetups, and the WA Data Science Innovation Hub are proud to partner together for this combined meetup where we will bring our communities together to collaborate on some of the biggest challenges facing industry.

Together we will discuss:

Haul Trucks & Combine Harvesters – Where mining and agriculture intersect

Not much imagination is required to work out the parallels between technology used in mining and technology used in farming. A haul truck and a harvester have many similarities. They can be manned or not. They can be remote controlled, automated, electric or diesel. How repetitive are their tasks? Can machine learning and AI be used to leverage value?

At this meetup we’ll have an expert panel, moderated by Beanstalk Agtech, to discuss just such items.

We’ll examine things like:

• How do both sectors intersect already at a technology level?
• How can WA leverage skills transfer between both sectors?
• What is government doing to help the cause?
• What barriers of entry exist for companies wishing to participate in one or the other sector?
